Supervision
Whether you're looking for regular support or a one-off space to reflect, supervision with me is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in your unique context.
With years of experience working across the NHS and education system, and in therapeutic roles with both adults and children, I bring a broad, compassionate perspective to the supervisory space. I also run a successful private practice and can offer practical, grounded support if you're building or growing your own, whether you're just starting out or navigating new phases of your work.
Sessions are available online or in person.
MY APPROACH
Supervision with me is a co-created space: empathic, affirming, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own work.
Rooted in a person-centred philosophy, I trust in your experience and capacity to grow. I bring the Seven-Eyed Model as a flexible lens through which we can explore your client work, relationships, processes, and the wider systems at play. It’s not a rigid structure, but a series of gentle invitations, prompts, and perspectives we can draw from when they serve you.
You lead the way. Together, we explore, stay curious, and create room for you to connect with what matters most: your values, your voice, and your ongoing development as a practitioner.
I recognise that supervision needs shift over time. Sometimes you may need support and guidance; at other times, gentle challenge or sharper focus. I hold space for those shifts, responding with care and flexibility as your needs and circumstances change.
Alongside this, I hold a strong ethical foundation. Supervision is not just a space for exploration. It’s a place where we stay connected to our responsibilities: to our clients, to the profession, and to ourselves. I aim to support you in feeling ethically grounded, confident, and aligned in your work.
Supervision fees are currently £50 per hour or £70 per 1.5 hours, for regular ongoing sessions (discounted rates are available for trainee counsellors).
I am open to discussing one-off supervision or consultation for counsellors and those in other “helping” professions (for example, education, healthcare, social care)
I appreciate that there may be times when you need to reschedule your session, and would appreciate as much notice as possible. Sessions cancelled with less than 24hrs notice may still be charged for.

For a counsellor, supervision is an ethical responsibility and professional requirement. Supervision provides a structured setting for reflective practice and support. It enables practitioners to discuss their client work, enhance their skills, and ensure ethical standards are maintained within their work. Supervision offers an opportunity for counsellors to gain insights from experienced supervisors, facilitating personal growth and professional accountability. This process not only reinforces the quality of care provided to clients but also fosters a collaborative environment where both supervisor and supervisee can learn and adapt, ultimately enriching the practice of counselling as a whole.
-
This depends on where you are in your counselling journey. If you're in training, your course or placement will usually have specific requirements (often 1.5 hours per month or a ratio of hours worked). For qualified practitioners, the BACP recommends a minimum of 1.5 hours per month, but some counsellors choose more during times of increased demand, complexity, or transition. We can discuss your unique needs together and adapt over time as things shift.

Yes, I welcome counselling students and trainees. I understand how important it is to feel supported, especially while you're developing your identity as a practitioner. Whether you’re looking for regular supervision during your placement or occasional support alongside your training, I aim to offer a space that feels safe, reflective, and encouraging, where you can grow at your own pace and ask the questions that matter to you.

Choosing a supervisor is a personal and important decision. You might want to consider whether the supervisor shares or respects your values, whether they understand your client group or modality, and how you feel in their presence: do you feel safe, heard, and respected? A good supervision relationship is built on trust, openness, and mutual respect. I offer a free initial chat so you can get a feel for how I work and whether my way of working is the right fit for you.

No, you don’t have to be a member of the BACP to work with me. While I’m a registered member myself and work to their Ethical Framework, I also support counsellors aligned with other professional bodies (such as NCS, UKCP, or HCPC). What matters most is that we work ethically and collaboratively, in a way that feels right for you and in service of your clients.
-
If you're a registered member of a professional body like the BACP, there are some important expectations around supervision. For example, the BACP asks you to:
Understand the purpose and value of supervision in your practice
Ensure you have appropriate and ongoing supervision in place
Keep an up-to-date record of your supervision hours
Be able to reflect on and demonstrate how supervision influences your practice
Provide details of your supervisor for audit purposes if requested
Give your supervisor permission to share relevant information with BACP for audits, if needed
As your supervisor, I can help you stay on track with these requirements and support you in using supervision not just as a tick-box exercise, but as a meaningful part of your development and ethical practice. We can regularly review your records and reflections together, so you're confident and prepared if you're ever selected for audit.

Not yet, but it's something I'm looking to offer in the future. If you're interested in group supervision, feel free to get in touch and let me know.
